Archeology/Anthropology

Archeology is the study of past human societies, primarily through the recovery and analysis of the material culture and environmental data which they have left behind. While Anthropology is the scientific study of the development of human cultures based on ethnologic, ethnographic, linguistic, social, and psychological data and methods of analysis. But I like to think of them a "cousins ", different yet part of the same family. We have always loved and respected the passion and dedication that the people working in these professions show.
These archeologists and anthropologists, along with countless dedicated volunteers are directly related to locating, studying and interpreting what was left by the early peoples of the southwest. The Native Americans and early Spanish explorers have left very little to follow, and it is with the unparalleled dedication of these people, that we are able to see what life was like centuries ago.
Dezert Magazine would like to invite you along, as we walk through the centuries and see how the people and the culture of the southwest have changed over the years.
