One could argue that treasure hunting in the southwest actually started with Francisco Vasquez de Coronado and his search for the fabled lost cities of Cibola. But there have been thousands since, whether you are looking for the Lost Treasure of Tumacacori, the Lost Dutchman, Lost Pegleg Mine, or even Pancho Villa’s lost rifles.
